Arrowood Development breaks ground on first homes at Bend Golf club.

With plot maps and permits finally approved, Arrowood Development’s shovels were out in full force last week as the team broke ground on a truly ground-breaking community. After a wait of nearly 100 years, 1925 Townhomes will be the first homes of any kind built within the Bend Golf Club.

Stretching along the 10th fairway, 1925 presents a collection of 34 homes that will complement the natural beauty of the setting, as well as provide the perfect environment for the Club’s active lifestyle.

“It’s a privilege to be developing the first homes at Bend Golf Club,” said John Lietz, President of Arrowood Development, LLC. “We’ve taken a lot of time to absorb the character of Bend’s most iconic club and we’re ready to launch something special.”

Phase One at 1925 will feature 14 single-level homes with commanding views of the fairway. Architect John Muir, who has had great success with high-end residential homes in Aspen, Colorado, as well as with Arrowood’s other local developments, has crafted four exceptional floor plans ranging from just over 1,803 to 2,431 square feet, priced from $659,000.

Three of the four plans offer the option for two-or three-bedroom suites with full baths, a dramatic great room with a fireplace and expansive windows, a spacious gourmet kitchen and a comfortable den. The smaller plan includes two-bedroom suites with a study alcove instead of the third bedroom or den. Plus, each two-car garage comes with extra room for golf cart storage.

Originally designed in 1925 by the legendary H. Chandler Egan, Bend Golf Club has long been one of the Northwest’s premier courses, hosting major tournaments and celebrities alike in the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. Guided by its dedicated members – many of whom were community leaders – the Club laid the groundwork for Central Oregon to become the golf haven that it is today.

Five years ago, the Club underwent a substantial renovation, updating the course, the indoor salt-water pool and the gym, while adding pickleball on both the indoor and outdoor courts. And as ever, the clubhouse keeps the nearly 300 members satisfied with live events, delectable cuisine and joyful camaraderie all year around.

“Bend Golf Club has definitely been experiencing a reawakening over the past few years,” said General Manager Jeff Keller. “In Arrowood Development, we’re thrilled to have the right partner to take us to the next level as a golf course community.”

Now that the ground has finally been broken, it won’t be long until Bend’s year-round favorite place to play will be its favorite place to live.
